Our Northeastern Life

Well, here we are in Boston. We are loving our life in the Northeast and all the experiences it has to bring - visitors are always welcome! But for those who cannot visit, here is a small glimpse of what we have been doing... but this really is a very very small glimpse. I have not taken enough pictures!

Here are some pictures of Skye and Bennett at the Mount Auburn Cemetery. I think this Cemetery is one of the most beautiful places I've been, especially in the fall with all the beautiful leaves. These pictures do not capture the beauty nor the enormity of the place.

We are happy to be here with family as well! We get together with Maria, Teppo and baby Ezra often and we love our discussions and visits. Here the kids are playing with Uncle Teppo at the Cemetery and obviously have a blast!

This picture is kind of dark, but it is so cute. Bennett loves Uncle Teppo...

 and all the leaves!

Here is just one tree out of the hundreds, if not thousands of trees in the cemetery along with someone's finger. :)

This is after Ezra's baby blessing.

Me and the kids at the Boston (or rather Belmont) Temple. Sorry you can't see the top, but it is beautiful and not too far.

Bennett playing with some flowers at the temple despite all my efforts to try and get him to "just look."

We were also blessed by having my parents come and visit. We loved having them here. Thanks for coming Dad and Mom! This is at Walden Pond - which is also quite beautiful. (Am I convincing any of you to come visit yet?)

Now onto another subject - you would think this is Skye's Halloween costume, but this is just one of her many dress ups after quiet time. She comes out dressed differently every day. I love the choice of shoes... and the flower (lego) pacifier. She sure is creative and pretty cute.

This is her real Halloween costume - she was a princess.

And Bennett was a lion... this is him saying "cheese!" which he says any time I pull the camera out. He can't do it normally,  he always has to have this squinty face now.

So, there you have it.  Just a bit of what's been going on. I still need to take pictures of MIT and more of our apartment. The only one I have is this picture of our view of the big playground in the middle of our complex. but you can't really see it with all the trees. We go there almost every day and it never gets old. We feel very blessed to be here. We have made lots of fun friends are are grateful for the opportunity this is presenting us. Taylor loves MIT and feels he is finally in his niche. (Thank goodness!)

Yes, we are still alive

I am sorry I'm a horrible poster, but I thought I'd let you know that Skye and Bennett are still alive and growing (a little too fast for my liking). My love for the two of them continues to grow and I feel so blessed to have them, even if they drive me nuts on some days. I still can't believe how fun and cute these two are.

Skye has decided that she dresses herself from here on out. Some days I can convince her to wear something specific or to let me choose (usually just Sundays), but most days she just likes to choose for herself; a battle I'm not willing to fight every day, even if the colors clash like crazy. Oh well., I am sure it could be worse. (ps-this outfit was on a ridiculously cold day too).
Luckily, Bennett still lets me dress him. :)
We go to the park just about every day. Both Skye and Bennett love being outside especially when bike riding, slides and swings are involved.

In short, I just love these two!

Lil' bit o' Skye & Bennett... and Halloween! (it's a long one)

These two have really started to like each other. At the beginning, Skye would play a little too rough with Bennett or would just out right hit him. But now, she loves being his older sister, making him laugh and giving him toys to make him happy. I sure love the little relationship building that is happening and hope it continues. (Please ignore the chunk of goldfish in Skye's teeth :))
Here are some random pictures of them individually with their adorable personalities--

We are still working on what "smile" means. She just can't quite get it right yet.
Bennett, on the other hand, will smile away with any attention given to him.
Skye LOVES wearing my shoes, especially the ones that make noise when she walks. She looks a little too grown up in this picture for my liking though... she's not old enough to wear those!
Again, our smiley little man.
Playful little Skye

With this whole lot of pictures I accidentally took off the 'red-eye' on the camera and so a lot of cute pictures are ruined... like this one. This is Skye's excited face, it is very hard to capture this moment because she doesn't show it often even if she is really excited... and what is she so excited about....? .....
...Her rain boots of course! She loved splashing away. We had to keep changing her pants though because they would get so wet and she didn't really like that but wanted to keep splashing.
We did a Sunday afternoon photo-shoot - (this is the best pic I could get of the two)

Bennett had his first food - peas. Yum! I love their first reaction to food, but as you can see, Bennett gradually began to like them. He ate them rather fast and is a great eater now, no picky-ness in sight... hopefully.

And Happy Belated Halloween! Skye was Little Red Riding Hood and Bennett was a soccer ball.

Bennett just wanted to eat all the leaves...
And this is all of us out to dinner with my parents. We really do enjoy being a family of four!
